What is the Soda Stream Genesis?

Soda Stream Genesis is a sleek and compact machine that infuses tap water with CO2 to create completely natural carbonated water. Soda Stream carbonated water can then be mixed with Soda Stream flavor syrups to create any type of soft drink that could be desired.

How it works

An aluminum canister of CO2 from Soda Stream is inserted into the back of the Soda Stream Genesis, with a BPA-free Soda Stream plastic bottle screwed into the front. The button on the top of the Soda Stream releases a small amount of CO2 into the water, making it “fizzy”.

There is no serious assembly necessary, and the soda machine does not use batteries or electricity. Making soda water with the Soda Stream Genesis is easy enough that children can do it, and the light, sturdy compact construction of the Soda Stream Genesis makes it an ideal gadget for any home, RV, apartment or dorm room.

Since the Soda Stream Genesis does not need to be plugged in and weighs very little, it is fairly portable. Take it camping, use it behind the bar at your next cocktail party, make soda on the porch, in the boat, or while staying in a hotel. Soda Stream bottles come with hermetically-sealed lids, so your soda stays fresh longer than in a typical store-bought bottle.

Flavors

Flavor syrups are available from Soda Stream in a wide variety of flavors, from cola to iced green tea. In addition to usual soda flavors in regular and diet varieties, Soda Stream offers energy and sport drink mixes, clear, very lightly sweetened seltzer fruit flavors and limited edition seasonal flavors.

For the health-conscious imbiber, Soda Stream offers a “Sparkling Naturals” selection of, that’s right, all natural fruit flavored soda mixes. Measurements for one or two liters of soda are marked on the inside of every Soda Stream flavor syrup lid, so it is very easy to know how much syrup to use.

Saving money and the environment

Another really neat thing about the Soda Stream Genesis is how environmentally friendly the system is. Soda Stream bottles are easy to clean and can be used for three years before replacing them.

Empty soda bottles do not pile up at home, and the more people use Soda Stream, the fewer plastic bottles need to be manufactured. Soda Stream also has an exchange program for their CO2 canisters, so customers never have to refill their own or worry about disposal of empty canisters.

All around, the Soda Stream Genesis gives very good value for money and is quite a bit of fun to use.
